The Haberdashers' Entrepreneurs Awards, in partnership with the University of East London, were celebrated at Haberdashers' Hall on 11th June. The aim of the programme is to give businesses owned by UEL students and alumni a financial boost to encourage growth; since its inception 10 years ago it has supported 114 businesses, 85% of which are still trading.
The award recipients went through a thorough assessment process, each receiving £2,000 and a support package including one-to-one mentoring, growth workshops and a funded student placement.
The enterprise, innovation and confidence shown by the award winners are always extremely impressive, and this year was no exception:
Gogo Studio, a diverse and multi-disciplinary London-based architectural design company, works on projects ranging from residential refurbishments to commercial and mixed-use developments.
Vidicrew, founded by filmmakers and video editors, turns mobile phone videos into engaging and professional short films, currently targeting the wedding and events market.
Far Fitness provides functional training which focuses on the whole body and takes a holistic approach to strength and training, specialisiing in those recovering from injuries or long term health issues.
Work Well Being creates wellbeing programmes designed to enhance individual health and happiness in the workplace, believing that happy and healthy employees are key to better business.
Street Food Markets, an urban space rental business, enables pop-up restaurants, street food entrepreneurs and food trucks to trade at unique locations, transforming bland sites into vibrant, burgeoning communities.
We wish them all the utmost success.
